Reptiles can be an amazing creatures. They are often full of personality, & have their own little behaviors, from the way they bask, to which decoration or hide they like best.  Reptile enclosures are becoming more intricate every year. Don't get me wrong a Reptile can survive in a basic enclosure but people can survive in studio apartments that doesn't mean they're always happy.

I've had many lizards & snakes over the years & they're enclosures have been everything from basic to expensive. With all the products out today you can set up amazing enriched enclosures for reptiles.

Our 2 year old ball python tank is currently going through a "rescape" in that we are adding new fake plants, tree limbs & substrate to her tank. Her set up is currently pretty old school, indoor/outdoor "grass" carpet, a long tree limb, water bowl, snake hide, & skull hide. As Kaa has gotten older she has taken to climbing, & stretching out. So, in order to give her the best home possible we will be adding fake potted plants, fake vine plants, & more natural drift wood. We could absolutely use live plants (but I'm better with animals than plants).

Kat has recently gotten a baby bearded dragon so we are slowly adding enrichment to Sobek's enclosure as well. Young beardie's should have a paper bottom to their tank for ease of cleaning & safety. In a few months sand substrate can be added to Sobek's tank.
