Importance of one on one trainers

Before you just scroll past, let me just say that I'm not against group classes, or even board & train. IF you have a working knowledge of how to communicate with your dog. Board & Train is great if you work long hours & need a little help getting in train hours, or if your dog is being trained for something specific. Group classes are outstanding for socializing, & working around distractions, but can be overwhelming.

Realistic Training

 Death is always hard. Choosing to Euthanize a beloved pet or having one pass unexpectedly, can be devastating, that loss can be crippling if that pet was a service animal. Grieving is a natural part of loss, & you must also grieve for your lost animals.

When to train?

One of the most common questions I get is "when should I train my puppy/dog?" The simple answer is any time you interact. Training starts when you wake up. You're routine is their routine, but it's not always what & when they need it. You need to remember that dogs are a lot like children, without the collage funds. They depend on you for everything. You tell them when to eat, play, sleep & use the bathroom. You are solely responsible for their worldview, what you do & don't do with them shapes how they act. Every dog wants to be a good dog it's how people have interacted with them that colors how they react.

Socializing

It's important to remember that even though we can't gather in large groups, it's important for your puppy to meet people & animals. A wonderful way to do this is to walk. Walking through town & on trails. Take your puppy to pick up their food from the pet store, make a special trip with the puppy to get a toy. Unfortunately, it can't be a family outing, but just as our children need socialization, do our pets. There are a lot of stores that are, in fact, pet friendly. Call around to local stores, look online. It amazed me at the number of stores that allowed pets. Micheal's & JoAnn Fabrics surprised me.
