I'm the mind behind New Tricks Behavior Training Service.

I was a practicing Veterinary Technician in Bel Air, Maryland for 7 years. I studied Veterinary Assistance and dog training online at Penn Foster. an AVTE & NAVTA accredited school.  My experience includes working at vet clinics, in shelters, at boarding facilities & even a small family owned pet store for most of my high school years.  I also owned and trained my personal mobility & medical alert Service dog, along with training my daughters Akita to Task for her at home.

My stepfather was in conservation for years &  introduced me to animal care at an early age, between showing me how to care for orphan animals, we also trained hunting dogs & our rescue & service dogs. My early experiences made a permanent impression that would shape my future goals & choices.

I was born & raised locally in Harford county. My first true look into the professional world of animal-care would came when I got hired at The House of Pets, a small family owned pet store in Aberdeen for nearly 30 years. I loved it so much that I went back to work there after spending some years trying to "figure out life".  A few years later, I got hired at an animal shelter, where I worked with the canines, after which I moved on to kennel staff at a boarding facility. Although I loved my clients I wasn't done learning. I decided to further my education by getting my Veterinary Assistance Diaploma. After which I dived headfirst into veterinary medicine. Since then I have also decided to share my knowledge & once again further my education by becoming a certified trainer, studying again at Penn Foster.

I'm all in when it comes to the health & happiness of animals.

Winter was my 1st foster dog, because of unforeseen circumstances (& through no fault of her own) her owner could not keep her. She spent a year in my home before I found her a forever home. This was a surprise visit from that owner about a year after he adopted her. She is still with him & being spoiled daily.

When I'm done caring for sick pets & not training new pets, I'm at home loving on my pets.

Not all pets have fur or legs... as you'll see if you check out the "my pets" gallery I have cats, dogs, fish, a tarantula, bearded dragon & a snake currently but I've had mice, rats & birds before.
